Giampiero Peia was born in 1961 in Lodi, Italy, and obtained a degree in architecture at the architectural faculty of Milan.
Between 1987 and 1994 he was a close collaborator and partner of the Ignazio Gardella studio.
In 1995 he created the Peia Associati Studio in Milan, designing innovative solutions, from architecture to industrial design.
The design activity is fuelled by a spirit of constant transversal research in the different fields of design inherited during the experience with Gardella.
In 1998, 1999 and 2000 he was nominated by the Casabella magazine as one of the 40 Italian “under 50” architects.
He has won numerous architecture competitions and has created many outstanding architectural projects; the headquarters of companies such as Film Master, Inferentia, Bain&Cuneo, the concept store Tad in Rome, the new industrial plants of Getrag and Cisal, a cemetery in Ascoli Piceno, the expansion of the Town Hall of San Donato Milanese, the restoration and reconversion of a monumental complex called Rocca Brivio into a public cultural centre, a sports centre in Salsomaggiore. He has created the stands for Virgilio, Fineco, Telecom, the Roberto Baggio Sport store, shops, events and fair stand for Chrysler-Jeep as well as Tad and Cisal ( a company for which Giampiero is currently designing different bathroom products ).
In 2004 Giampiero Peia and Marta Nasazzi organized the set up of the The Andy Warhol Show exhibition at the Triennale of Milan, and the office was selected by the Triennale for the annual Open Studio rally.
They were also involved in the design of the master plans in Milan and Florence for Pirelli Real Estate in cooperation with
MetroGramma and 5+1.
The current projects being developed by the studio include: a master plan, residential towers and commercial buildings in Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur; residential buildings in Milan; the Mediateca Comunale of Fidenza (OF-Orsoline Fidenza); tourist complexes on the Lago Maggiore which include homes, a hotel, a sports centre, a conference centre, a restaurant
and a yachting club; a new residential complex in “Ex Ceramica” area in Laveno; and the new Buddhist Italian Centre I.B.I.S.G. in “Guardia di Sopra” area, in Corsico.
Furthermore a new TAD concept store has been inaugurated in Milan in 2006.
Peia office is working since 2005 on the Alfardan Towers project in Doha (Qatar), which includes an innovative commercial podium with high level brands, restaurants, BMW showroom, spa and swimming pool (122.000 sqm).
In Doha, Giampiero Peia and his company provide the design activities for the first building “The Oyster” on the new Island “The Pearl”, the UDC urban project close to the West Bay and more private villas.
In January 2006, Arab Engineering Bureau and Peia Associati submitted their project for The new Qatar National Bank Headquarter on Doha corniche.
In 2006 Giampiero Peia e Marta Nasazzi have opened the new office of the Peia Associati Srl in via Cadolini 30 in Milan.
Further projects in Accra, Ghana are in progress and they include one design hotel, a new residential complex and one design large showroom.
In Benin Cotonou, a new residential complex of 69 villas, vip villas and a design hotel are under construction.
In November 2007 the office is also involved in the Tower at Suk Al Thalath Al Gadeem, competition in Tripoli, Libya.
