Doppiospazio present to Milan Design Week 2009 …and they relived happily ever after

Wednesday 20 May 2009
a redesign project by Doppiospazio
The collection “…and they relived happily ever after” by Doppiospazio is offspring of the admiration for the technical, functional and formal aspects of objects that easily become obsolete.
A project that wants to increase the attraction of old furniture pieces and create new ones using objects destined to be discarded. A green filosophy without compromise, a natural
approach characterized by a profound respect for the environment.
“…and they relived happily ever after” by Doppiospazio consists of elements that surround us but that we don’t succeed in seeing, notwithstanding their strong emotive impact. A vision of
design that recovers and redraws that which already exists, with a sustainable attitude.
In the middle of the forgotten glass of ceiling lamps, old drawers, abandoned skis, tennisrackets that don’t play anymore, the decorated spaces at the flagship store of Patagonia become a threedimensional story of emotions, memories, experiences to be shared. Objects with a story to tell that seek a new habitat in which to transmit their versatility.
Through a proces of research, selection, and careful transformation Doppiospazio succeeded
in giving these objects a new and strong added value, that turns them into truly unique pieces.
