Milan, April 2007 – During the days of the 2007 Furniture Show, Lea Ceramiche will be present at the meeting point in space T35 in Via Tortona with the GPS – Geografia per superfici installation, a project run by Diego Grandi.

The installation is mounted inside an area of more than 300 msq on the ground floor of T35, the space in the Tortona zone given over to welcoming visitors to the numerous and crowded festivities held in this area of Milan. Whoever enters T35 will have the possibility to receive literature, collect printed material, to surf the internet via multimedia points or simply to meet, compare and participate in the numerous scheduled meetings dedicated to the theme of the project.  

This is the context in which the effective Lea Ceramiche project, which reveals - using ceramic material - a redefined and imaginary geography studied within the boundaries of a reflective, communicative space, will come to life.

Just like an ideal orographic map which underlines the elevations of the earth’s surface, Diego Grandi rethinks a new map, synthetic and physical at the same time.  Sinuous and ample ceramic surfaces construct a functional space with the essence of matter, the result of a virtual timeless voyage that takes you everywhere and nowhere.
The ceramic volumes, each one different to one another in form and installed at different heights, will be realized in yellow and ochre tones with glossy listels from the eclectic Progetto L14 collection.  Stylized black trees will contrast with the brilliant colours of the surfaces and will be the unusual support for numerous naked light bulbs and repeated and decontextualized spot lights

GPS – Geografia per superfici represents an important new appointment within the journey of research and reflection undertaken by the company in recent years which has brought about the development of original scenarios, reinterpreted through the material potential and the design of the  Lea Ceramiche collection.
