The first emotion awakened in visitors to this installation – on display at the Triennale in Milan on the occasion of the exhibition "A Natural Beauty" - is the sensation of finding themselves in a special station that seems taken from Alice in Wonderland, in which a tile suddenly grows and grows, multiplying and proliferating like the famous deck of cards. This sensory voyage draws the traveller in, awakening his curiosity and engaging him in a strange, astounding experience.

Giardino Incantato, (the Enchanted Garden) is both natural beauty and novel perspective effects that create shapes that are innovative yet eternal. This ceramic slab of Pietra Vicentina stone, reproduced in clay in perfect detail – fossils included – becomes a playful invention, a curious illusion.

This installation, inspired by natural grottos in a country landscape, generates a myriad of impressions and sensations. The colour and technical features of the ceramics are enhanced, indeed celebrated, by this new take on the material, which is layered, almost anatomised, emanating a dazzling, forceful burst of energy.

Ceramiche Coem would like to thank the architect Giacomo Sanna and his colleagues Vittorio Minervini and Alessandra Scardaoni, who with TILEiNSIDE have given a new, creative, conceptual interpretation of the material vitality of stones used to make ceramic products. We hope to see you all at the upcoming 2009 edition of Cersaie in Bologna, where the installation - so successful in Milan - will be on display once more in an extraordinary outdoor setting.
